Last Friday, The Blot was traveling and I totally missed out on getting to write about this insane new Astro Boy screen print by Martin Ansin before it was released by Bottleneck Gallery! This piece is legit beautiful and perfect in every way, so I still wanted to shine a spotlight on this fantastic new poster.
As BNG explained, “Osamu Tezuku’s Astro Boy has been an enduring and endearing character for our entire lives, and we’re overjoyed to be able to team up with ISH and Martin on a multi-faceted image for the legendary manga. Martin’s bold and crisp lines, paired with bright and powerful coloring, bring Astro Boy’s world to life. We’re also blown away by how much lore Martin is able to tuck into a single poster.”
Astro Boy by Martin Ansin is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 275 pieces and retailed for $75. There are also two variants: a GID Edition and Foil Edition! The Glow in the Dark Variant is limited to 175 pieces and retailed for $85, while the Foil Variant is limited to 125 pieces and retailed for $95.
There is also a 3D Lenticular Plex on 4mm polystyrene. It is limited to 50 pieces and retailed for $200. All four posters went on sale at 12pm ET on Friday, March 2nd, at BottleneckGallery.com and promptly sold out.
