Collectionzz has teamed up with artist Dan Mumford for the next poster in their Iconic by Collectionzz screen print series commemorating another legendary moment in music history. Check out the rad “The Who New York City 1967” by Dan Mumford! As Collectionzz explained, “The Who arrived in New York City in March of 1967 for a run of performances in the “Music in the Fifth Dimension” variety show, their first performances in the United States, at the Roaring 20s era RKO Radio Theatre. After the obligatory dance contest ended, Pete Townsend’s telecaster ripped into the solo guitar intro for ‘Substitute’ from behind the curtain, and The Who appeared. Their brief show ended with the band destroying their equipment as smoked billowed from the speakers filling the small theatre.”
The Who New York City 1967 by Dan Mumford will go on sale at 12pm EDT on Wednesday, April 15th, at Collectionzz.com. There will be two editions of the poster available: the 9 color Main Edition ($75) is limited to 130 pieces, while the Pearlescent Variant Edition ($150) is limited to just 45 pieces and comes printed on metallic flake paper. Plus, as always there’s two Chase Variants (an Oil Swirl Foil 1/1 and Rainbow Foil x/2) that are not for sale but will be randomly added to three lucky purchasers’ tubes for free!
