To celebrate today’s opening of Black Panther in theaters across America, Mondo is teaming up with Marvel to release an insanely awesome Black Panther screen print by comic book legend, Denys Cowan!!! Not only that, but the piece features inks from his longtime collaborator, and iconic artist in his own right, Bill Sienkiewicz, and beautiful colors by Chris Sotomayor. The Blot is super pumped for this release!!! If only I had a chance at actually scoring one.
As Mondo explained, “We have long been HUGE admirers of his work in comics, not to mention his iconic artwork for one of the greatest Hip-Hop records ever: GZA’s 'Liquid Swords.' It was a real pleasure working with him on this poster.” Cowan went on to say, “The Black Panther was one of the first comic books I saw as a kid. The character had a profound influence on me and was one of the main reasons why I had to draw comics! It's a great honor and privilege for me to contribute to the cinematic legacy of the Black Panther with this poster!”
