The newest t-shirt design from our friends at Deli Fresh Threads pays tribute to the classic sandwich you’ll find in school lunchrooms across the country, the Sloppy Joe! What you may not know is the history behind this iconic sandwich. It is said to have been created in the 1930’s by a cook named Joe at a cafe in Sioux City, Iowa. He added tomato sauce to the “loose meat” sandwich he was making creating one of the world’s messiest foods, the Sloppy Joe.
Designed by Kyle Van Cleave of KVC Design, this awesome Sloppy Joe’s t-shirt is gold, which pays homage to the two large state schools where the sandwich was created, Iowa and Iowa State, and features red typography just like the tomato sauce used to make the sandwich. This Sloppy Joe’s T-Shirt is currently available at the Deli Fresh Threads online store, in sizes S-3XL, for $24.99.
