With San Diego Comic-Con 2016 less than a week away, director James Gunn released this beautiful concept art for his upcoming film, Guardians of the Galaxy 2! One can only assume Marvel will give away a poster of this art by Andy Park at Comic-Con as an exclusive. What’s really interesting about this concept art from the film is who it includes! For those of you unfamiliar with Matins, the Celestial Madonna, she is a long time member of the Avengers who was an important member of the modern day version of the Guardians of the Galaxy. This marks her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Not only does it give us our very first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy’s newest member, Mantis (portrayed by Pom Klementieff), but it also includes Michale Rooker’s Yondu and Karen Gillan’s Nebula reprising their roles from the first film. All of the original Guardians of the Galaxy are back as well, including Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, Dave Bautista’s Drax, Rocket Raccoon and even baby Groot! The Blot cannot wait for GotG Volume 2!
