The Chinese New Year is here, and to celebrate Andrew Bell has released a new limited edition Android mini vinyl figure, Red Pocket! It’s become a yearly tradition for Bell to release a Chinese New Year commemorative Android, and this one has a very unique twist. The Red Pocket Edition Android features a traditionally dressed Android holding up a whole bunch of red envelopes. Each figure also includes an actual red envelope containing a fun little Android / Monkey “dollar bill”, or if you’re really lucky, a “golden ticket” that rewards the winner with a custom minted 10g 24k gold coin worth over $450! There are two golden tickets out there in a sea of Red Pocket Androids…were you a winner?
Like with all Chinese New Year Android releases, this figure is primarily an edition for Dyzplastic’s retail partners in Asia. But Andrew made sure to keep a small number of this year’s Chinese New Year Red Pocket 3” vinyl figures to sell in the US at his Dead Zebra online store. They retailed for $10 and are now sold out.
