Later today, Grey Matter Art will be releasing the third and final print in Timothy Pittides VICES series based on propaganda films from the 1930s and 1940s. “The Road To Ruin” is a propaganda film about the true gateway drug, alcohol. Released in 1934, the film tells a tale of a young woman who gets in with the wrong crowd, and begins a journey down the spiral of booze, drugs and sex. As Pittides explained, “With this poster I wanted to finish up the whole “See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil” undertone I began with both Reefer Madness and Cocaine fiends. Here, we have the demon emerging from her glass of devil’s brew, throwing red rose petals into the poor girl’s face.”
“The Road To Ruin” by Timothy Pittides is an 18”x24” 3 color screen print. Limited to just 75 pieces, this print will go on sale at 1pm EST today, Friday, 13th, at the Grey Matter Art online store for $35.
