Grey Matter Art made a huge announced today… they’ve acquired the license to produce movie posters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The Blot is super excited for this new series of screen prints from our friends at Grey Matter Art, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us. For their first Marvel release, GMA has teamed up with artist Matt Ferguson to create this awesome glow in the dark screen print for the very first Marvel live action film, Iron Man!
Matt gave a little behind the scenes look at his design: “It goes without saying that I love Marvel and I love working on Marvel artwork, so this poster is a dream come true. I have always wanted to do my own take on the first Iron Man film and working on this project with Grey Matter Art has been an absolute blast. I was allowed complete freedom to come up with a composition that I felt best suited the film and the character. I love the classic Iron Man 'ground pound' pose and so I wanted to incorporate that into the design, I also feel like it is somewhat a companion piece to my Guardians of the Galaxy/Star Wars poster.”
Iron Man by Matt Ferguson is a 24”x36” hand numbered glow in the dark screen print. The Regular Edition is limited to 300 pieces and will retail for $50, while the Variant is limited to 175 pieces and will retail for $70. There’s also a super nice Foil Variant (that also glows in the dark), which is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $100. All three editiosn are scheduled to go on sale between 1-2pm EDT this Thursday, June 4th, at the Grey Matter Art online store.
