Next Sunday, April 19th, Wacko / Soap Planet will be hosting a release party for Funko’s super limited “Glitter Red” Gigantor Hikari Sofubi vinyl figure. What really makes this event special is that Fred Ladd, the Father of American Anime who wrote/produced/directed the US version of the Gigator animated TV series, will be attending the release party for a very rare signing between 3-6pm. This is an amazing opportunity to meet and have merchandise signed by the man who introduced Japanese animated cartoons to North America.
Mr. Ladd is one of the true pioneers from the golden age of television and recently celebrated his 88th birthday. If only The Blot lived on the west coast I would sooo be there! Fred Ladd will autograph any Funko Gigantor vinyl figure purchased at Wacko for free, while he will charge $20 to sign any other Gigantor item (Japanese toys, DVDs, books, comics, etc., including Astro Boy or Kimba the White Lion items). This very special “Glitter Red” Gigantor Hikiar release party and signing will take place at Wacko / Soap Plant (La Luz de Jesus Gallery) located at 4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Feel free to call the book store at (323) 666-7667 with any questions.
The “Glitter Red” Gigantor Hikari vinyl figure by Funko stands 7.5” tall, includes a hand numbered card to prove authenticity and rarity, and comes packaged in a full color window box perfect for display. Limited to just 500 pieces, this Hikari vinyl figure can be purchased exclusively at the Wacko / Soap Plant for just $50. Collectors can pre-order one now through the Wacko / Soap Planet online store (while supplies last!).
