Batman 75th Anniversary Screen Print Series - “Detective Comics 31” by Tim Doyle

Batman 75th Anniversary Screen Print Series - Standard Edition “Detective Comics 31” by Tim Doyle

Geek Art and French Paper Art Club continues their officially licensed Batman 75th Anniversary Screen Print Series with “Detective Comics 31” by Austin’s very own, Tim Doyle! This print is a redesign of the original cover artwork to DC Comics' iconic Detective Comics #31 from 1939, originally drawn by Batman creator Bob Kane.

Batman 75th Anniversary Screen Print Series - Metallic Variant “Detective Comics 31” by Tim Doyle

Written by Gardner Fox and drawn by Kane, issue 31 features Batman leaving Gotham City to fight the hooded villain Monk, who kidnapped Bruce Wayne’s fiancée Julie Madison. The famous is probably most famous for the very first appearance of Batman’s trusty Batarang! I really love how Doyle was able to reinterpret this classic cover and really make it his own.
