The Blot’s been going back and forth for a couple of weeks now trying to decide whether or not to blog about this Emerald City Comicon 2015 exclusive. While I personally think this officially licensed Transformers vinyl figure designed by Wade Schin and produced by WeLoveFine looks awesome, it also looks (at least on the surface) to be based on Rich Page’s (of UME Toys) Scamwave figure. The resemblances are uncanny to say the least. That being said, I’m going to give Schin the benefit of the doubt and hope it’s not a complete copy.
The Emerald City Comicon 2015 Exclusive Soundwave Transformers vinyl figure stands 7” tall and 5.5” wide, and retails for just $40. What’s interesting is the figure itself is not an ECCC exclusive. What is exclusive is Soundwave’s green Super Mix tape accessory that can actually be placed inside of his chest. The green tape is limited to just 1,400 pieces (yeah that does sound like a lot!). It’s a pretty cool feature for a designer toy, but I do wish the standard edition, which also retails for $40, at least included a different color tape. Otherwise what’s the point of having the figure’s chest be able to be opened? If you’re not able to attend Emerald City Comiccon March 27-29, you can pre-order a Soundwave designer art toy from the WeLoveFine online store.
