The Blot loves pretty much anything Alex Ross paints, and that includes this beautiful Yellow Submarine image commissioned by Dark Hall Mansion! For DHM’s newest officially licensed The Beatles limited edition print, they’ve turned to the iconic comic book artist to reinterpret The Beatles 1968 animated film in Ross’ signature realistic style. Alex has often been referred to as “the Norman Rockwell of comics,” yet his Yellow Submarine piece reveals the similarly powerful influence of master surrealist Salvador Dali, whom Alex has recognized as a guiding influence on his style.
“Yellow Submarine” by Alex Ross will be printed in exact scale to his original painting via limited edition canvas and paper editions and measures a whopping 72” long. The Paper Edition “Yellow Submarine” is limited to 295 pieces and will retail for $375, while the Canvas Edition is limited to just 125 pieces and will retail for $550. Both versions will come signed by the artist and go on sale at 9:30am PST this Thursday, February 26th, at the Dark Hall Mansion online store.
