Marvel released what I assume is the final theatrical one sheet movie poster for this summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron! It’s a pretty sweet poster, and yet it’s not. While I love the concept behind the image, why in the world did Marvel not invest a little more advertising money for some quality photoshopping for a film that’s sure to gross something like 12 billion dollars? The original Avengers film had equally bad photoshopping and it drives The Blot crazy! Check out the international version below, which is basically the same poster but without all the Ultron drones in the background.
Besides that, I was happy to see Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury prominently included in the poster, as well as the inclusion of the Scarlett Witch, Quicksilver and the Vision (albeit hidden in the glare of the sun). I am a bit surprised that Chris Evans got fourth billing behind Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo. And if you look very closely at the bottom of the poster you’ll notice the names of Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Anthony Mackie (The Falcon), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Idris Elba (Heimdall), and Stellan Skarsgard (Erik Selvig) are all listed as appearing in the film! That’s pretty awesome news in and of itself!
Avengers: Age of Ultron invades theaters on May 1, 2015.
