It’s been a while since OBEY Giant released one of Shepard Fairey’s signature pattern screen prints that really blew The Blot away. But man I’m in love with this new collaboration between Shepard and artist Cleon Peterson entitled “Pattern of Corruption”. The print is based on a mural Cleon and Shepard recently collaborated on in Miami’s Wynwood district. Their collab turned out so amazing the two artists decided to make some limited edition screen prints inspired by the mural.
Both Cleon and Shepard deal with the persistent themes of the fragility of society, human savagery, and corruption in their work. As such, the “Pattern of Corruption” has a dichotomy in its hypnotic classical floral pattern with sinister elements woven into it, which caution the viewer to look deeper than an appealing surface presentation.
“Pattern of Corruption” by Shepard Fairey and Cleon Peterson is an 18”x24” Obey Giant screen print, with each poster signed and numbered by the artists. Each version is limited to just 150 pieces and sold as sets in three unique colorways: Black/White, Gold/Black and Blue/White. “Pattern of Corruption” will go on sale at a random time between 10am to noon PST on Tuesday, January 27th, at the OBEY Giant online store for $120 per set.
