I can’t believe the season premiere of Better Call Saul is almost here! If you’re not familiar with the new AMC series, Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White’s lawyer. The Blot is beyond pumped to revisit the world of Breaking Bad! While I know it won’t be the exact same, it’ll be great to see some of my favorite Breaking Bad characters on TV again. Anything that gets Saul and Mike Erhmantraut back together is a good thing! Better Call Saul has a two night premiere event scheduled for Sunday, February 8th, and Monday, February 9th, at 10/9c on AMC.
According to the show’s website, when we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks). The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “criminal lawyer”.
Breaking Bad creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan and Breaking Bad writer and producer Peter Gould created the show together and serve as co-showrunners of the premiere season. Gilligan directed the first episode of the series, which has already been greenlit for a second season of 13 episodes. The debut season will consist of 10 episodes.
