Later today Mondo will be releasing three epic prints based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic middle-earth books. First up is Aaron Horkey's The Fellowship of the Ring, which is the final screen print in his amazing Lord of the Rings poster series that's been three years in the making. The poster depicts Gandalf's battle against the Balrog in the Mines of Moria with an incredible attention to detail.
To celebrate the release of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in theaters this week, Mondo will also be releasing movie posters for the previous two The Hobbit films, An Unexpected Journey by Ken Taylor and The Desolation of Smaug by Nicolas Delort. All three screen prints go on sale at a random time today, Tuesday, December 16th, at the Mondo online store.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by Aaron Horkey is a 19.25”x39” hand numbered and signed screen print. The Standard Edition is limited to 606 pieces and will retail for $100 each, while the Variant is limited to 361 pieces and will retail for $200.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey by Ken Taylor is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It is limited to 325 pieces and will retail for $50.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug by Nicolas Delort is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It is limited to 300 pieces and will retail for $45.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Variant by Nicolas Delort is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. It is limited to just 125 pieces and will retail for $65.
