It’s only May, but the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusive announcements are already being unveiled almost every day now. Mattel has some big things in store for SDCC 2014, including the first ever Filmation style Hordak action figure! In honor of the 30th Anniversary of She-Ra, Mattel is releasing this Masters of the Universe Classic Hordak inspired by his ‘80s animated appearance, complete with blue skin and interchangeable cannon and human arms. The figure also includes a snap-on claw hand for his cannon arm and a Horde magic staff. Joining Hordak is Imp, his sarcastic sidekick from the cartoon series, in his first appearance as a MOTU Classics figure.
If purchased at SDCC 2014, the Filmation Hordak figure will also include a San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive “Imp as a Treasure Chest” accessory! Packaged separately in a polybag, the “Imp as a Treasure Chest” accessory will not be included in the blister card with Hordak and the standard Imp figure. This means the “treasure chest” Imp is really the MOTU SDCC exclusive this year, since the Filmation Hordak Masters of the Universe Classics action figure with Imp will be available via MattyCollector.com after the convention.
The Filmation Hordak with Imp will be available for pre-order at MattyCollector.com on June 24, 2014 to be picked up at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and sold at the show for $30 each. After SDCC this Masters of the Universe Classics figure will be available at MattyCollector.com on August 5, 2014 without the exclusive “Imp as a Treasure Chest” bonus figure.
