Artist Ben Plavin recently created his first custom vinyl figure, and The Blot loves it! Ben has turned ESC Toy’s full size DIY Soopa Coin Op vinyl figure into a pretty realistic Doctor Who arcade game. To make this custom figure, Plavin added the light at the top and attached an EL Wire unit to the back to light both the top and the screen. The figure’s side graphics include Simpson inspired Doctor Who art by Dean T. Fraser, while the 8-bit Doctor Who video game itself is a combination of Doctor Who perler bead art and the old school X-Men arcade game. This is definitely some cool use of Photoshop. Fantastic work Ben! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
