Inspired by the recent tragedy in Oklahoma, ValleyDweller had decided put his epic painting video game inspired painting "Saved by Samus" up for auction on eBay with all proceeds being donated to the Red Cross. The painting was originally created for Gallery 1988's "Old School Video Game Art Show" in September of 2011. It features Earthworm Jim being carried out of rubble by Samus Aran from Metroid. The original intent of the piece was to play up that Jim had a crush on Samus, but in light of the recent tornado disaster in Oklahoma ValleyDweller hopes that it becomes a bit more about the rescue itself.
“Saved by Samus” is a 12”x16” acrylic on canvasboard painting and comes framed. It’s been listed on eBay starting at $25 to cover materials, and everything beyond that amount will be donated to the Red Cross.
