It’s been a number of years since The Blot featured Anthony Bourdain’s Travel Channel television show No Reservations weekly here on TheBlotSays.com. For a number of reasons (most of them out of my control) I stopped promoting upcoming episodes after years of doing so. I still miss doing it even though the blog has featured less and less TV since then. Bourdain has always been one of my favorite people, and when rumors started swirling over a year ago that he’d be leaving the Travel Channel for CNN my interest was seriously piqued.
The rumors proved true, and after over 7 years, 9 seasons and 142 episodes No Reservations came to an end and Bourdain took his talents to CNN! I never really understood how Bourdain would fit in with the news channel’s programming, but it’s clear CNN is trying to branch out with new programming in the hopes of expanding its viewership. Tomorrow we finally find out just what Anthony Bourdain’s new show on is all about it with the world premiere of Parts Unknown! CNN is promoting Parts Unknown as an exotic look at global destinations through Bourdain's unique lens and will feature Tony’s insight into food, current events, and cultures around the world.
It kinda sounds like just an extension of No Reservations, but I’m hoping for so much more! I guess we all need to tune into CNN this Sunday, April 14th, at 9pm EST for the world premiere of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown to find out.
