The Blot first met Alice Lin (aka ComixGuru on Twitter and Instagram) back in 2009 through our mutual love of LOST and screen prints. Fast forward to 2013 (has it really been almost four years?), and Alice is now an accomplished screen print artist in her own right! Alice was one of the many talented artists showcased in the Hero Complex Gallery’s latest group art show “Oscar Legends,” which featured art inspired by some of history’s most groundbreaking Oscar-winning films.
Alice's print “The Horse” is inspired by the film Once and its Oscar winning song “Falling Slowly” by The Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova). The title of the print actually refers to Glen’s Takamine NP15 acoustic guitar, which he calls The Horse, and is made up of the lyrics to 8 of the songs from the Once soundtrack. Pretty cool don’t you think!?!
“The Horse” by Alice Lin is a 24”x18” signed and numbered screen print inspired by the hit film Once. Limited to just 50 pieces, “The Horse” can be purchased from the Hero Complex Gallery’s online store for just $35!
