Fringe Screen Print #2 - The Plateau by Mark Englert

Fringe Benefits Limited Edition Fringe Screen Print Series - “The Plateau” by Mark Englert

The Plateau” by Mark Englert is the second screen print in the Fringe Benefit Screen Print Series released in honor of the hit FOX television show Fringe’s fifth and final season. Each print will be based on an episode’s case (aka fringe event) selected by fan voting at the Fringe Benefit website. Englert’s design is based on Episode 303, entitled “The Plateau”, where Olivia, Charlie and Lincoln are called to the scene of an accident where a pedestrian has been run over by a bus, nearly duplicating events of a similar bus accident the day before. Olivia finds a ball-point pen at the scene, a rarity in the parallel universe because of the adoption of digital interfaces. Evidence suggests that the discovery of the pen by a bystander created a sequence of chain reactions that lead to the victim's death.

Englert has been on a tear lately creating a series of amazing landscape prints from some of pop culture’s most popular locales. Over the past year he’s tackled TV shows and movies such as Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Alien…and now Fringe! A killer line-up for sure! Mark Englert’s limited edition Fringe 5 color glow in the dark screen print “The Plateau” measures 36”x12”, has a run size of 150 pieces (only 100 available for purchase) and comes hand numbered. The print retails for $30 each and can be purchased here.

To celebrate and honor the fifth and final season of Fringe, six of Gallery 1988’s most sought after artists and designers have been commissioned to create screenprints depicting some of the series' most memorable cases. All profits from the Fringe Benefits project will be donated to The Mission Continues, an amazing charity that encourages and aids volunteerism by disabled and wounded veterans. These screenprints are hand-pulled, each its own individual work of art, in an edition of just 150, with only 100 available to the public through this project. Once the edition is sold out, they will never be printed again.
