HeroClix has teamed up with Morgan Spurlock to release one of the coolest San Diego Comic-Con tie-ins of all time! To commemorate the release of Spurlock’s documentary Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope on DVD, HeroClix is producing a matching four figure Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope DVD and HeroClix combo pack. The four HeroClix figures included in this exclusive set represent key figures who helped make this movie possible: Stan “The Man” Lee, Morgan Spurlock, Joss Whedon, and Ain't It Cool News founder Harry Knowles! It’s basically a geek’s wet dream.
For those of you unfamiliar with Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, it is a documentary by Morgan Spurlock that explores the amazing cultural phenomenon that is San Diego Comic-Con by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca of SDCC 2010. The film also features one-on-one interviews with Comic-Con veterans who have turned their passions into professions, which include Stan Lee, Joss Whedon, Frank Miller, Kevin Smith, Matt Groening, Seth Rogen, Eli Roth and many more. There is also coverage of the preeminent pop culture extravaganza’s panels, parades, photos, costumes, crowds and camaraderie that make it one of the largest fan gatherings in the U.S.
The Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope DVD and HeroClix Combo Pack will be available this July for a limited North American release, and will include a DVD of the film as well as the four HeroClix figures seen here, which you will not be able to buy anywhere else. A limited quantity of these sets will also be available at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 at the NECA booth.
