Yes you read that right, the Designer Toy Awards are back, and this year is going to be bigger, badder and more fun than 2011! Clutter Magazine has re-organized a few things to make the awards more concise and even more prestigious, so stay tuned throughout the year as it announces more details regarding DTA 2012 events at SDCC and NYCC.
To start things off for the 2012 Designer Toy Awards, you can now submit nominations for all categories over at the official DTA website www.designertoyawards.com. They are calling it a "Call for Entries" this year because they’ve made significant changes to the nomination process this year. Clutter has put together groups of nominating committees, which will be in charge of digesting the entries and discerning there qualification in the awards. The committees will reduce the entries to five nominees in each category for Board voted awards and ten nominees in each category for Community Choice voted awards.
Nominations will be announced at the 2012 Designer Toy Awards Nominating Party at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, and the voting will begin shortly thereafter. In a surprising twist, the actual awards ceremony will take place at New York Comic-Con 2012 this October. Who knows, maybe if The Blot Says… makes the short list again I’ll have a reason to finally attend my first NYCC!
