The Walking Dead Television Series 1 Action Figures by McFarlane Toys

The Walking Dead Television Series 1 - Deputy Rick Grimes & Daryl Dixon Action Figures

While my wife was out of town Friday night for work, The Blot sat down to watch all of The Walking Dead Season 2, Part I. Thankfully the first 7 episodes of Season 2 were a lot more consistent than Season 1, and I found myself fast forwarding through episodes less and less as the season progressed. By the end I was actually excited to watch Season 2, Part II, which isn’t scheduled to airing until February 2012. In the mean time we have these awesome The Walking Dead Television Series 1 action figures from McFarlane Toys!

The Walking Dead Television Series 1 - Zombie Biter & Zombie Walker Action Figures

The Walking Dead Television Series 1 includes Deputy Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, a Zombie Walker and a Zombie Biter. I was really excited to see Daryl Dixon included in the first wave of figures as he is hands down my favorite character on the show. It’s really surprising too since he is an all new character that did not originate in Robert Kirkman's comic book series from Image Comics. What’s amazing is how spot on Rick and Daryl look to their real life counterparts. According to McFarlane Toys it’s because the figures were created based on a 3D scan of the actors themselves.

Each The Walking Dead Television Series action figure stands 4” to 4.5” tall, includes tons of accessories and comes packaged on a blister card. This is a sister series to McFarlane Toys’ previously released The Walking Dead Comic Book Series, one is just based on the characters from the comic book series while the other is based on the hit AMC TV show. Both toy lines are the same scale and feature the same packaging. If there is one complaint I’ve heard about these toys is that they are much smaller in person than fans anticipated.

According to McFarlane Toys, The Walking Dead Television Series 1 is not expected in stores until December 2011 but I saw them at Austin Comic-Con a month ago. So they may be available at select retailers now for $15 each or you can pre-order the entire set for $55.99 here from EntertainmentEarth.com.
