Kidrobot’s worst kept secret became official yesterday, as the designer toy company announced Dunny Series 2011 will be released on Thursday, June 23! This all new blind box series includes 20 diverse Dunny designs from 15 inspired artists. From nice to nasty and cute to killer, Dunny Series 2011 serves up a Dunny design for virtually every taste.
Featured artists include both longtime KR collaborators and a host of Dunny newbies: 64 Colors, Aya Kakeda, Chuckboy, Dirty Donny, DrilOne, Elphonso Lam, Huck Gee, Kronk, Le Merde, MAD, Mishka, Mister F(r)ame$, Squink! Travis Lampe and Betso, 2010's MUNNY Munth winner.
Each blind boxed 3” Dunny figure retails for $9.95, and comes with a trading card and a single piece of a super secret Dunny from one of KR's freshest artists. Put the individual pieces together and you'll have a one-of-a-kind, not-sold-anywhere Dunny! It looks like Kidrobot has officially jumped in to the Collect and Connect craze.
Also, you can snag an alternate monotone version of Huck Gee’s Zombie Dunny for free with the purchase of a case of Dunny Series 2011 at Kidrobot retail stores, Kidrobot.com, and select retailers worldwide. Plus, Paul Budnitz and Aya Kalkeda will be in attendance at the Kidrobot NY release party promoting their new book “Hole in the Middle.” No word yet if the “Hole in the Middle” Dunny you see above is a Series 2011 mystery figure, a special release for the book signing or something different altogether (Golden Ticket anyone?). More info as it becomes available!
