Munky King presents the Black in White Vinyl Figure by Luke Chueh
After years of prototypes and teases, Munky King is finally brining Luke Chueh’s highly anticipated Black in White vinyl figure to San Diego Comic-Con 2010! Based on the original painting of the same name, Black in White is an 8” vinyl figure sculpted by Dave Pressler dressed in a furry bunny suit.
2 years in the making, Luke Chueh’s Black in White figure comes with an extra fur head that you can swap out with the bare one and a really sharp knife. This awesome looking figure will make its debut at SDCC 2010, with any remaining Black in White figures made available online after the Con.

Justice League of America presents Starro the Conqueror Set & SDCC 2010 Exclusive Starro Spores Bonus Pack
This special set from Mattel commemorates the 75th Anniversary of DC Comics. The Starro pack re-creates one of the most famous DC covers of all time, the cover of Brave and the Bold Issue #28, which just so happens to be the first appearance of the Justice League and Starro the Conqueror.
The Justice League of America presents Starro the Conqueror Set includes all five JLA members featured on the cover (Martian Manhunter, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Aquaman) as highly articulated action figures in the same scale as the DC Universe Infinite Heroes toy line, and a giant, bendy Starro the Conqueror. What’s even cooler is the packaging for this set features lights and sounds with the voice of Kevin Conroy, TV's animated Batman, describing the characters and events seen on the cover. This set will go on sale after San Diego Comic-Con at MattyCollector.com for $50.
As an added bonus for those of you attending SDCC 2010, Mattel will be including a poly bag of four Starro Spores as a free gift with the purchase of the Justice League of America presents Starro the Conqueror Set (while supplies last). What’s weird about these Comic-Con exclusive Starro Spores is that they are compatible with Mattel’s line of 6" DC Universe Classics action figures and not the 3 3/4" DC Universe Infinite Heroes action figures included in the Starro Set. Anyone else think it is bizarre Mattel didn't make the Spores fit the figures they come with!?!

SDCC 2010 Exclusive MOTU Orko Action Figure
Mattel will be releasing two versions of its Masters of the Universe Classics Orko action figure, a San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Exclusive version with color-change feature and a standard version without the color-change feature. What’s really weird about this release is both versions come with a bonus fully articulated Prince Adam figure! This has to be considered one of the weirdest “accessories” ever produced, but at least this way collectors will end up getting 2 action figures for the price of one!
Orko includes a magic wand, stand, magic book and Prince Adam action figure. Prince Adam comes complete with both angry and smirk heads, a purple Power Sword, and half of a purple Power Sword. Doesn’t that sound like a ton of stuff all for just $25? The SDCC Exclusive Orko also changes color in warm water. Everything except his face and the "O" on his chest changes to clear once Orko takes a bath. His magic book also has a color-change sticker that reveals the SDCC logo.
After Comic-Con, a standard version of Orko without color-change features will go on sale at MattyCollector.com and will retail for $25 as well. This version of the figure will be identical to the one described above, except it does not have color-change features.

Mystery Chase James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the Iron Man Mark II Armor CosBaby by Hot Toys
While playing around on eBay this past weekend The Blot finally caught a glimpse of the Iron Man 2 CosBaby Series mystery chase figure! The secret is out, and it’s a James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the Iron Man Mark II Armor with a flippable mask. I honestly had no idea who Hot Toys was going to choose for the Iron Man 2 mystery chase, and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised.
Each Iron Man 2 CosBaby stands 3 inches tall, comes packaged on a 4-color blister card and retails for around $10.

Disney x Medicom Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket Vinyl Figures by Kaws
According to Highsnobiety.com, there is a new Kaws figure in the works and it features two of Disney’s more popular characters, Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket! Produced by Medicom, these vinyl figures of the wooden puppet who would become a real boy and his insect conscience look amazing! And while some might not like the Kaws-ification of such iconic figures, I kind of like the added details of Kaws’ signature skull head and crosses.
According to the Highsnobiety.com article, “We get a first look at the Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket toys by American artist Kaws. The two toys were shown as part of a show book; as part of the Kaws museum exhibition, which started today at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. At this time it is not clear if this toy is being released but it does show a listing of 2010 and having been produced by Medicom Toy Co. / Disney. It is also listed as from the Collection of Artist.” (link)

LTD Tee - Pink Cranium T-Shirt & Art Print by Iban Brizuela
For LTD Tee’s fifth release the clothing company turned in house for inspiration. LTD Tee’s intern Iban Brizuela, who came up with the “Pink Cranium” design, finds inspiration from people deported from reality. According to the releases’ description, Brizuela’s art is often dark and comical with a twist of obscenity that you can trust…and The Blot thinks that explains a lot!
As always with LTD Tee, the “Pink Cranium” box set will be available for one week only, exclusively at www.ltdtee.net. From June 28th through July 4th, fans can purchase the “Pink Cranium” box set by Iban Brizuela. Each box set includes a screen printed t-shirt, an 8”x10” art print and a LTD Tee sticker pack all packaged in a custom screen printed box.
While the “Pink Cranium” box set retails for $26.99, readers of The Blot Says… can use the discount code “blotsays” for 15% off!

Astro-Zombies Exclusive Clear Blue Tick Action Figure by Shocker Toys
So apparently there is an uber-rare fourth The Tick Indie Spotlight action figure from Shocker Toys that not many fans know about. It is a clear blue version of The Tick, which can be purchased exclusively from the Albuquerque comic books store Astro-Zombies. I’m not sure if there is any type of significance to this clear blue colorway, but the transparent Tick action figure does look pretty cool.
The Astro-Zombies Exclusive Clear Blue The Tick action figure by Shocker Toys is limited to just 500 figures and can be purchased from the Astro-Zombies online store here for $29.99.

Disney x Medicom Alice in Wonderland 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick Set 2
The Blot has no idea why Medicom and Disney have decided to release a second Alice in Wonderland 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick set, especially since it won’t be released until December 2010 (well after the release of the film on DVD/Bluray). Either way, I’m sure Disney, AiW and Johnny Depp fans will all be very happy to be able to add these two figures to their collections.
The Disney x Medicom Alice in Wonderland 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick Set includes a Mad Hatter in Blue Jacket 100% Kubrick and a White Rabbit 100% Be@rbrick. This Alice in Wonderland movie edition set will retail for around $25-35 each.

The details on this Harry Potter Kubrick are incredible, and the Quidditch Firebolt broomstick makes for a killer accessory. The Blot’s got a feeling this Harry Potter 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick Set will be “flying” off store shelves!

Alice in Wonderland Screen Print by Olly Moss
Based on Lewis Carroll's insanely popular book comes this awesome Alice in Wonderland screen print by Olly Moss! The Blot’s been anxiously awaiting the release of this print ever since Moss first released a teaser image of the design a few weeks ago. Olly really hit this one out of the park on this one. I just love the print’s simplistic, retro book cover look, and I think the mini-Alice at the bottom of the print was a smart addition (kind of giving the print a Disney vibe to it). This is definitely one of those prints that could be hung in anyone’s house.
Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland print by Olly Moss is a two color 16"x24" screen print. Each print comes signed and numbered by the artist and has a relatively small run size of just 192 prints. This AiW print will be released later today, Friday, June 25th, at PostersandToys.net at 2pm CST.

Tomenosuke Exclusive Ichigo Mama Panya with Berry Shroom by Erick Scarecrow
Check out Erick Scarecrow’s newest figure, Ichigo Mama Panya! This Tomenosuke exclusive figure will be sold as a set, which includes one 6" Ichigo Mama Panya figure and a 1.75" Berry Shroom figure. Each set is signed and numbered by the artist and comes packaged in Scarecrow’s signature box. The Tomenosuke Exclusive Ichigo Mama Panya with Berry Shroom set is limited to only 30 pieces and will be available on July 3, 2010, however less than 30 pieces will be available through Tomenosuke. For retail info please contact Tomenosuke here.
Ichigo Mama Panya’s Story: Ichigo Mama-Panya is a baker that makes colorful Shiitake Shroom cakes for a living. One day she found a large strawberry on the sidewalk that fell from a tree in front of a wizard's home. She picked it up and hurried back to her bakery to decorate her famous Berry Shroom cake with it.
The cake came alive and told her that what she did was unclean and dirty. Ichigo slapped the ungrateful cake and was about to discard him until he begged her not to. Ichigo thought long and hard about the Berry Shroom's fate until she decided that she could use an extra hand in her bakery.
The Berry Shroom was relieved and got to work immediately. They bonded and shared many secrets. When the Berry Shroom knocked over a jar of flour he sneezed repeatedly. This made his colors change. Ichigo was in shock when she realized her outfit colors changed as well.

Obey Giant: Glass Houses Canvas Screen Print by Shepard Fairey
Thankfully Shepard Fairey has stepped away from his portrait canvas prints to release a design very reminiscent of his earlier propaganda work. The Blot really digs the new "Glass Houses Canvas Print," especially the two quotes on it: “Insert Wise Phrase About Glass Houses” and “The Sky Is Not The Limit.” Back in the day I would have tried to snag one of these, but I’ve pretty much given up trying to get an Obey Giant print the day of its release from their online shop. Talk about a lesson in futility!
The Obey Giant “Glass Houses Canvas Print” by Shepard Fairey goes on sale today, June 24th, at a random time at the Obey Giant online store. This is an 18”x24” signed and numbered screen print with an edition size of 450.

TRON Legacy SDCC 2010 Exclusives from Spin Master
Spin Master was awarded by Disney the master toy license for the upcoming sequel TRON Legacy, and the toy company has some seriously cool products in the works including a new line of 7.5” action figures. While a lot of those tie-ins won’t come out until closer to the film’s Christmas release, Spin Master has two San Diego Comic-Con 2010 exclusives scheduled to whet our appetites!
First up is a special edition TRON Vintage Figure. While the figure’s nice, what’s really cool about the figure is its packaging. The figure comes packaged in a retro TRON arcade cabin, which includes its trademark translucent blue joystick! How cool is that? The figure also has a light-up feature on its base that can be activated in or out of the arcade-style packaging. The TRON Vintage Figure is limited to 1,500 pieces and will retail for $40 at the SDCC TRON booth, which will be jointly run by Spin Master and Disney.

There will be 3,000 Light Cycles produced, with the die-cast motorcycle retailing for just $5! This SDCC exclusive will also be available for purchase at the SDCC 2010 TRON booth.
From what I’ve heard there are a ton very cool TRON Legacy tie-ins in the works from a variety of different companies, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled to The Blot Says… in the coming months for all the latest!

I Am A Girl Resin Figure by Amanda Visell
Amanda Visell has released a brand new resin figure entitled “I Am A Girl,” which she explains tongue firmly planted in cheek as “my sort of kaiju, which seems to be monsters figures made by boys. This is a girl made by a girl, so twice as scary." The Blot really digs Amanda’s version of neo-kaiju, unfortunately at $150 it’s a little out of my price range.
I Am A Girl by Amanda Visell is a 6.5”x4”x1” resin figure sculpted, molded, cast, hand painted, and packaged all in the Switcheroo workshop. There are two versions of the I Am A Girl resin figure: the dark blue Nitelite version has an unknown edition size, while the Frosty version is a hand painted clear resin with a limited edition run size of only 5 figures. Both figures retail for $150 and can be purchased here (although the Frosty I Am A Girl is already sold out).

For the 4th year in a row, EMEK has designed the poster for the Coachella Music Festival. The Coachella 2010 “Snake” poster depicts one of the fire breathing sculptures from the festival and is a 22”x30.5” 9 color silkscreen featuring a gorgeous metallic blue ink. The Blot predicts this killer EMEK image sells out in about 10 seconds.

To be honest, The Blot has pretty low expectations for TNT’s newest hour long drama Memphis Beat. But while the reviews have only been so-so, I have to give Memphis Beat a shot because it stars one of my favorite actors, Jason Lee. I’ve loved him ever since the former skateboarder first started popping up in director Kevin Smith’s movies, and his NBC comedy My Name Is Earl was one of my favorite comedies of the ‘00s.
Memphis Beat centers on Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee), a quirky Memphis police detective with an intimate connection to the city, a passion for blues music and a close relationship with his mother. He is "the keeper of Memphis," a Southern gentleman who is protective of his fellow citizens, reverential of the city's history and deeply rooted in its blues music scene. Despite his impeccable instincts as a detective, Dwight's loose, relaxed style of police work rubs his demanding new boss, Lt. Tanya Rice (Alfre Woodard), the wrong way. But Dwight may eventually win her over to a Memphis state of mind, especially when he takes the stage at his favorite hangout to perform a legendary Elvis song or two.
Memphis Beat airs Tuesday nights at 10/9c on TNT, and stars Jason Lee, Alfre Woodard, DJ Qualls, Celia Weston, Sam Hennings, Leonard Earl Howze and Abraham Benrubi.

The Green Hornet Movie Mez-Itz Set: Green Hornet & Kato Vinyl Figures by Mezco Toyz
The Green Hornet Movie Mez-Itz Set by Mezco Toyz features two 6” vinyl figures of The Green Hornet and his faithful valet Kato. These two figures feature costumes inspired by the upcoming The Green Hornet feature film starring Seth Rogen, however I’m not quite sure they really nailed Rogen’s fro. Both figures feature five points of articulation and are individually packaged in collector friendly window boxes.
While The Green Hornet Movie Mez-Itz 2-pack is not scheduled to ship until sometime in November 2010, it is currently available for preorder through the Mezco Toyz online store for just $26.
The Green Hornet, a classic character of film, television, radio, and comic books, returns to the big screen in Columbia Pictures' big budget tent pole feature film The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen as the vigilante crime-fighter and Jay Chou as Kato. The is scheduled to debut in theaters on January 14, 2011, and will be based upon The Green Hornet radio series created by George W. Trendle.

Draw Limited T-Shirts
The Blot recently found out about a really cool art project entitled Draw Limited. Draw in a new company that revolves around simple doodles and drawings, proving there's artistic merit in everyone’s art. What’s really cool about Draw is they’ve taken the traditional user submitted design model (utilized by companies such as Threadless and TeeFury) and flipped it on its head. You see, unlike those other companies Draw actually uses EVERY drawing it gets! How cool is that!?!
To give you an idea how Draw works, the company posts a theme or idea on its website, and users submit their drawings of that theme/idea. The only catch is every aspect of the design has to be hand drawn, i.e. nothing is done on a computer. Draw then takes the designs it receives and makes t-shirts, posters, prints and buttons of the drawings. If Draw doesn’t use the art on a tee, they’ll use it in another medium, but they really do use everything submitted. So, if you’ve always wanted to see your drawings or ideas printed on a t-shirt or button, start visiting www.drawlimited.com and submit a drawing today!
Cool shirts like the ones seen above can be purchased from the Draw Limited online store for $24 each.

Kidrobot - Dunny Azteca Series 2 Teaser Image
The Blot has no idea if this is legit or not, but it looks like Kidrobot’s long rumored 3” Dunny Azteca Series 2 is finally seeing the light of day. Toy blog Vinyles Chiles has posted a photo of what may be the official lineup for Azteca Series 2. (link) While the first Dunny Azteca Series was extremely popular (and limited), I’m really not feeling the designs below. Then again, maybe they’ll grow on me once I’ve seen them in person.
The line-up of the alleged 3 inch Dunny Azteca Series 2 by Kidrobot features designs by Zhon DSR, Oscar Mar, Naco, Michelle Prats, Tatei, Anais E3, Ciler E3, Tepetonga, Miguel Garcia Barracuda, Luis Mata, Morbito, Neuzz, Fatal, Jose Leandro Cordova, Frida, and Jose Maria Torre.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World International Trailer
If you thought the last Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie trailer was awesome, then you’re really going to be blown away by the film’s international trailer! It takes everything fans love about the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels and makes it come to life. I seriously can’t believe how realistic they make even the craziest of scenes from the Scott Pilgrim books.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World might be one of the truest adaptations of a comic book I’ve ever seen, and puts other video game based movies to shame. But don’t take my word for it; check out the SPvsTW international trailer above!
The Scott Pilgrim live action movie adaptation, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, premieres on August 13, 2010, while Scott Pilgrim Volume 6, Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour, by Bryan Lee O’Malley hits book shelves on July 20, 2010.

The Smurfs Movie First Look and Teaser Trailer
Fans reaction to the upcoming “live action” The Smurfs movie has been all over the map, but I think it’s safe to say reaction has definitely skewed towards the negative. I’m still holding out hope The Smurfs will be a cute kids movie, but I’ve got a feeling it’ll include some inappropriate crass moments totally disgracing the legacy of Peyo’s greatest creations.
In the photo above you can see the world’s first every look at the Smurfs in all their CGI glory. Papa Smurf and his two generic Smurf companions actually looks pretty good, but I’ll need to see more before making any final judgments. You can see a little more of the three Smurfs above in the film’s first teaser trailer below. It’s cute, but nothing special.
The Smurfs in 3D is scheduled to debut in theaters sometime during the summer of 2011.

Los Angeles Lakers Win the 2010 NBA Championship For Back to Back Titles
Wow, as a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers The Blot can honestly say I’m as excited for this NBA Championship, the franchise’s sixteenth, as I was the first time I watched the Lakers win one in the ‘80s. It’s definitely a feeling that never gets old, and this one was especially sweet considering the team’s collapse against the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals.
It’s hard to believe the Lakers have now been to the Finals three straight years and are coming off back-to-back championships. Before Derek Fisher’s return and Pau Gasol’s arrival in 2008, the team was in a freefall and Kobe’s departure was all but certain. Now the years with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown are just a distant memory!
There are a number of reasons this championship is especially sweet, and at the top of that list is because it came against the Lakers’ hated rivals, the Celtics, and was the perfect revenge for 2008’s loss. On top of that, Kobe now has 5 titles (and 2 NBA Finals MVP awards), on par with Magic Johnson, and Phil Jackson has won 11 titles, widening his record over the Celtics Red Auerbach (who has 9 titles to his credit). Another amazing statistic is that Jackson is the only NBA coach to ever win multiple titles in a row four different times! He had two different three-peats with the Bulls, a three-peat with the Lakers and now back-to-back championships again with the Lakers. That’s just incredible, isn’t it?
Another interesting turn of events from last night’s victory is that Kobe now has more NBA titles than Shaquille O’Neal (5 to 4). When asked what winning another NBA titale means to him individually, Kobe responded “Just got one more than Shaq. You can take that to the bank. You know how I am. I don't forget anything." I may be a Shaq guy, but that’s still pretty funny (and true).
I could go on and on about Pau’s amazing performance throughout the playoffs (he probably should have won the Finals MVP award this year), Ron Artest’s amazing in game 7 or DFish’s continued clutch shooting…but I won’t, because you already know how great they were! Instead I’ll just make an impassioned plea to Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss to please, please, please resign Phi Jackson. Pay the man his money so the Lakers can you win you a second three-peat. As we all know, Phil likes to do things in 3s.
