Without a doubt, The Blot favorite new toy of 2010 is Jeff Lamm’s Greasebat. The excitement in the designer toy community over this figure has been in toxicating, and I was excited to learn yesterday that Lamm already has his next two figures, M 5 Bravo and Stee-Gar, in development! But these aren’t just any two figures, but the arch enemies of Greasebat.
Each toy is made of three interchangeable sections and can be mixed and matched as seen in the pictures above. On top of that, each figure has at least four points of articulation. You can only see a tiny portion of the wax molds in the pictures Jeff leaked, but they look pretty awesome. These should be a great compliment to the Greasebat figure…too bad they want to see him destroyed!
Here is M 5 Bravo and Stee-Gar’s official back story:
The guy with the single large eye is called M 5 Bravo. He's a rogue military prototype recon robot/monster mix. Originally intended for recon missions on harsh alien planets, his large single eye is night vision capable, telescopic and has the ability to see thermal images. He can then broadcast those images via the TV screen on his chest. He recently became self aware and has vowed to destroy Greasebat at any cost. M 5 Bravo is virtually indestructible due to his thick skin covered in armored bumps, but he does have a weakness, his bulging, ready to burst eyeball. His horns can retract to half their length, although the purpose for this is currently unknown.
The other hairy guy is Stee-Gar. He was originally developed from pollution eating microbes by research scientists Dr. Stephens and Dr. Henry "Hank" Garfield, hence the name. Demand for bigger pollution eating beasts lead to Stee-Gar’s creation. He has also gained independent thought, left his government masters and now is on a mission to destroy Greasebat, who he sees as a giant walking ball of oily pollution. Stee-Gar can fly short distances on his stubby wings, like a chicken, and his fur and thick armored scales allow him to operate in all environments.
