Now here’s one Vinylmation series that I know will be popular with even the biggest Disney haters! Coming soon from the House of Mouse is Vinylmation Star Wars Series 1. No release date has been announced, but we do know there will be 11 characters included in Series 1 and a corresponding Vinylmation Star Wars Series 1 pin set. Like most Vinylmation Series, I assume we will eventually learn that Star Wars Series 1 also includes a 12th mystery chase figure.
So far, Disney has only unveiled the artwork for the series’ first 6 figures, which includes Darth Vader, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2 and a Stormtrooper. I don’t know why, but The Blot had a feeling a series like this would be coming after I first learned of the release of Vinylmation The Muppets Series 1. I’m really hoping this series will also include a matching 9” figure. How great would a giant Darth Vader Mickey be!?!
Each Disney Vinylmation Star Wars Series 1 figure stands 3” tall and retails for $9.95 each. While these are technically “Disney theme park exclusives,” they all seem to show up for sale online at DisneyStore.com. As always, expect more info to come as it becomes available.

Iron Man 2 Screen Print by Mike Saputo
To commemorate the exclusive screening of Iron Man 2 at the Alamo Drafthouse on April 26th, the Alamo Drafthouse commissioned two awesome looking movie screen prints, one by Tyler Stout (seen here) and the other by Mike Saputo. While Stout’s Iron Man 2 print feels much more like a movie poster to me, I really dig Saputo’s screen print because of the way it looks and feels like something you would see on a comic book cover.
The Blot especially really likes the way Saputo depicts Iron Man and War Machine in the throes of battle against Whiplash and his electric whips. Mike Saputo’s Iron Man 2 print measures 24”x36” and is a 6 color screen print, including red and gold metallic inks. The run size and price of Mike’s tribute to the Armored Avenger is currently unknown.
While these prints went on sale at Mondo Tees yesterday (in store only), they will eventually go on sale at the Mondo Tees online store and directly from the artist.
Iron Man 2 premiers in theaters on May 7, 2010.

Iron Man 2 Screen Print by Tyler Stout
To commemorate the exclusive screening of Iron Man 2 at the Alamo Drafthouse on April 26th, the Alamo Drafthouse commissioned two very cool looking limited edition movie screen prints. The first is by Tyler Stout and it’s a beauty! Tyler has consistently produced some of the finest movie screen prints over the past two years, and his Iron Man 2 print is no exception (and wouldn’t it look killer next to his Lost screen print “LOST”?).
As a comic book fan, this Stout Iron Man 2 screen print is a must get. I love the way he was able to highlight every main character in the film without taking away from the print’s central figure, Iron Man. I’m also really digging the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo Tyler included in the top left corner right under Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.
There are actually two versions of Tyler Stout’s 24”x36” Iron Man 2 screen print (which is freaking huge by the way). The standard version is a 6 color screen print with metallics, was printed on cream paper, has an edition size of 515 and sells for $40 each. The glow in the dark variant Iron Man 2 screen print features 7 colors, including glow inks! The Variant Iron Man 2 screen print is has an even small run size of 130 and will retail for $80 each.
While these prints went on sale at Mondo Tees yesterday (in store only), they will eventually go on sale online at the Mondo Tees online store and at Tyler Stout’s website.
Iron Man 2 premiers in theaters on May 7, 2010. The 2nd Iron Man 2 screen print by Mike Saputo can be seen here.

Jonah Hex One Sheet Movie Poster
You know, the one comic book live action movie adaptation The Blot’s heard very little about is this summer’s Jonah Hex. Not only that, but the film’s website is basically non-existent. This lack of hype might be a good thing as it helps to keep expectations low. But when the film’s based on a comic book and is released in the summer, such under promotion is typically a bad sign!
And is it me or does Warner Bros. have absolutely no idea how to capitalize on its DC Comics properties!?! Nothing depresses me more than to see the WB ruin another potential DC Universe franchise. Here’s hoping Jonah Hex surpasses even my low expectations (and Megan Fox has finally learned how to act).
Jonah Hex premieres in theaters nationwide on June 18, 2010.

Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun Packaging
Super7 recently unveiled the packaging of its upcoming Star Wars collaboration, the limited edition 24 inch Stormtrooper Super Shogun. Both the figure’s color packaging and cardboard shipping carton look awesome, and I love the way they’ve modeled it after the packaging of old school Super Shogun figures from long ago (see the second photo below).
Each figure also includes two torso stickers, one in English and one in Japanese. Just from the packaging alone, you can really tell the love and passion that was put into this product by the good folks at Super7, and The Blot can’t wait to see the final version of the 24” Stormtrooper Super Shogun in person.
The Star Wars x Super7 Stormtrooper Super Shogun is currently available for pre-order directly from Super7 here. The figure retails for $299.00, and even at that price these amazing retro figures won’t last long.

MattyCollector.com Exclusive Lobo JLU Action Figure
It seems like fans have been clamoring for a Lobo JLU action figure ever since the Justice League Unlimited toy line first debuted back in 2003. Thankfully, Mattel has finally given in to its fans’ requests and will be releasing an animated version of the DC Comics character this summer. Sadly, this will be the last MattyCollector.com exclusive JLU release. But don’t worry, news has already leaked that Target has committed to carrying the JLU toy line exclusively through at least the end of 2010.
This mega-strong, mega-mean intergalactic mercenary arrives here on Earth thanks to mega-fan demand! The “Main Man” himself is faithfully sculpted in the much sought-after Justice League Unlimited animated television series style. Larger than other figures in the JLU toy line, this big, bad biker comes on an equally big blister card!
The MattyCollector.com exclusive Lobo JLU action figure will go on sale June 15, 2010 and will be available for purchase here for $20 each.

Super7 - Yellow Rose Vampire by Josh Herbolsheimer Teaser Image
Thanks to the Kaiju Chronicle, we now have our very first look at the next colorway of one of my favorite vinyl figures, the Rose Vampire! All The Blot knows about the upcoming Yellow Rose Vampire by Josh Herbolsheimer is that it features red and blue spray, and it will hopefully be released sometime soon! More details to come…
The Kaiju Chronicle also has a sneak peek of two other upcoming Super7 releases, a GID Metallic Pink Mummy Gator and a Clear Pink Steven the Bat by Bwana Spoons. To see the first ever photos released of these three awesome figures, click here.

The Return of Damon, Carlton and a Polar Bear’s Limited Edition Lost Prints
It is amazing how one single tweet can excite an entire fan base. Ever since Gallery 1988’s Jensen Karp tweeted “Game back on” with a link to Damon, Carlton and a Polar Bear, LOST fans have been trying to figure out what exactly that cryptic messages means. So far, all we do know is this: DCaaPB has been re-launched and now features what appears to be an all new LOST screen print by Kevin Tong advertising the upcoming event “LOST Live: The Final Celebration.”
While most LOST fans are hoping this signifies the release of a second set of LOST prints highlighting key moments from the show’s final three seasons (Seasons 4-6), The Blot has no idea what to expect. According to DCaaPB, DamonCarltonAndAPolarBear.com will be in the UCLA Royce Hall Lobby for the upcoming LOST Live. Their booth will be accessible to non-ticket holders, as well as show attendees, and they will most definitely be bringing surprises! Here’s hoping those of us not in LA will still be able to get our hands on whatever LOST screen prints are in the works. More info to come soon (I hope).
LOST Live: The Final Celebration features Oscar winning composer Michael Giacchino conducting a live orchestral performance featuring the iconic music of LOST. LOST Live will take place at UCLA's Royce Hall in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday, May 13th, to celebrate the upcoming series finale. The concert will also feature appearances by LOST cast members, including Nestor Carbonell, Michael Emerson, and Jorge Garcia. In addition, a special preview of the penultimate episode will be screened immediately after the concert. Sounds pretty cool doesn’t it? I’ve been told tickets to LOST Live have already sold out, but hopefully they’ll release a copy of it in the upcoming LOST: The Complete Series box set.

Ram-Bot, a Masters of the Universe Inspired Custom Sketchbot by kaNO
myplasticheart recently presented the Sketchbot Custom Show, which also marked the official launch of the Sketchbot vinyl figure, a new figure by NYC artist/animator Steve Talkowski. 50 artists and designers participated in the Sketchbot Custom Show and there were some really amazing pieces, all of which can be seen here.
Since I know a lot of diehard He-Man and the Masters of the Universe fans read The Blot Says…, I thought I’d feature one of my favorite pieces from the Sketchbot Custom Show, the hand painted MOTU inspired Ram-Bot custom figure by kaNO.
kaNO explained where his inspiration for Ram-Bot came from on his blog: "As soon as I saw the Sketchbot figure all I could see was Ram-Man from the old He-Man cartoons that I grew up on. I sculpted a little, but the rest was pretty straight forward. I was really happy with the outcome." (link) kaNO’s custom Sketchbot “Ram-Bot” is still available at myplasticheart.com. It can be purchased here for $250.

Super Mario Bros. Screen Print “1UP” by David Flores
Is it me or does everything look just a little better after David Flores applies his stained glass style to it? Flores takes everyone’s favorite Italian plumber and turns him blue in “1UP,’ DF’s newest screen print. “1UP” features a blue Mario flying through the air with angel wings, and I’ve gotta say, the Nintendo icon looks killer flying against an all black background.
The Super Mario Bros. screen print “1UP” is available now through SomethingIll.com and retails for $50 each. This three color screen print measures 16”x20” and has an edition size of 50.

SDCC 2010 Exclusive DC Universe Classics Plastic Man Action Figure
It looks like the long rumored DCUC Plastic Man action figure is finally seeing the light of day at San Diego Comic-Con 2010! Sadly, it seems like Mattel is continuing its trend of releasing a figure as a “SDCC Exclusive,” when really only one of the figure’s accessories is exclusive to the Con (see the Wonder Twins release with SDCC exclusive Gleek).
While the Plastic Man action figure will be available via MattyCollector.com after San Diego Comic-Con, the Plastic Man Suitcase will only be available at SDCC in extremely limited supply. The DCUC Plastic Man, which will retail for $20 each, has interchangeable standard arms, stretchy arms, giant form hands (a fly swatter and a bouncy ball with racket), and interchangeable stretchy neck and leg springs.
The Plastic Man Suitcase is packaged in a poly bag and comes free when you purchase DC Universe Classics Plastic Man at SDCC 2010. You can attach Plas’ arms, head and neck to the suitcase as if he had disguised himself as a suitcase. Open up the suitcase and find chip art comic book covers from the 75 years of DC Comics. Frustratingly, The Blot predicts the Plastic Man Suitcase to sell out in 1-2 days at San Diego Comic-Con, similar to the ridiculously fast disappearance of Gleek at last year’s convention.

The Losers Final One Sheet Movie Poster
After weeks of hype, The Losers finally premiers in theaters today! To mark this special occasion, The Blot is proud to share with all of you the film’s final one sheet movie poster. With both The Losers and Kick-Ass in theaters this weekend, my Saturday is set…I’ll be hitting up a live action comic book adaptation double header!
While Kick-Ass and The Losers are very different films, it’s probably a bad thing they were released in back-to-back weeks. I hope both films to do well, but I’ve got a feeling they’ll end up cannibalizing each other’s audiences over the weekend, which will end up crushing one of these films’ box office take. The reviews of The Losers have been pretty positive so far, but its rating on Rotten Tomatoes is only 43%. (link) Here’s hoping my violent Saturday lives up to the hype!

Smoke Grey Mummy Boy Vinyl Figure with Pink Grin by Super7
Fast on the heels of the Pink Haze Big Sal is the return of Super7 's loveable mascot, Mummy Boy! Mummy Boy is cast in smoke grey maximum glitter vinyl with black spray and a huge pink grin. Considering The Blot’s love for Super7, I’m more than a little ashamed to admit I’ve never purchased a Mummy Boy before. That’s all about to change on May 1, 2010 as I’ll definitely be picking up this awesome looking figure. The more clear vinyl Super7 can produce the better!
Super7’s smoke grey Mummy Boy vinyl figure will be available at S7, S7FL, Rotofugi, 5 & A Dime, Mishka NYC, Red Hot Robot, Ultra Pop, Artoyz, and Neon Monster. This killer looking Mummy Boy goes on sale at 11am PDT on May 1st and will retail for $50 each.

Blammoids! Series 4 Mini PVC Figures by DC Direct
Earlier this week, DC Direct finally announced the release of its fourth (and probably last) wave of Blammoids! mini figures. Blammoids! Series 4 includes The Flash, Hawkman, the Martian Manhunter, Brainiac, Zoom and Etrigan the Demon.
While The Blot had high hopes for this line of cute designer vinyl figures, from everything I’ve read it doesn’t appear that the Blammoids! toy line is selling all that well. For some reason, I think collectors have spurned the idea of these abstract chunky 3 inch figures of their favorite super heroes and villains. I got to see Series 1 a few weeks ago at my local comic book shop, and they honestly did look better in person. But with that being said, I still didn’t buy any.
Each Blammoids! Series 4 PVC mini figure features three points of articulation and comes packaged on a blister card. Blammoids! Series 4 is scheduled to go on sale on December 1, 2010.

It’s springtime, and that means it’s the beginning of baseball season! To commemorate the start of the 2010 baseball season, Johnny Cupcakes has released three brand new baseball themed t-shirts. The Blot loves this mash-up of Johnny’s Cupcake and Crossbones logo with America’s favorite pastime, and I hope to be seeing many of you sporting these fun, patriotic tees during the dog days of summer. And really, what signifies summer time more than cupcakes and baseball!?!
These sports themed t-shirts are available right now at JohnnyCupcakes.com. The Baseball Crossbones t-shirt in both red and blue, as well as the JC Baseball Team t-shirt, can be purchased from the Johnny Cupcakes online store for $35.99. All three Johnny Cupcakes 2010 baseball t-shirts come in both guys and girls style tees in sizes S–3XL.

Red Dutch Edition Arkiv Instant Vinyl Figure
Mintyfresh and Outland Store have joined forces and are proud to release the red Arkiv Instant Dutch Edition by Indonesian artist Arkiv. This bloody red colorway looks awesome on the Arkiv Instant figure, and is sure to be a hit with collectors of designer/urban vinyl.
The Dutch Exclusive Red Arkiv Instant stands 11 inches tall and is limited to just 100 pieces. The figure is currently available for pre-order directly from Amsterdam’s Outland Store here for €75 each. The red Dutch Exclusive Arkiv Instant is expected to ship sometime in June, 2010, but if you want to add one of these figures to your collection you’d better act fast! DC Direct Blackest Night Series 8 Action Figures
DC Direct’s hugely successful Blackest Night action figure line continues with its eighth wave! Correct me if I’m wrong, but The Blot’s pretty sure the Blackest Night series is now DC Direct’s longest running line of action figures. The details on these figures are incredible, and each wave is better than the last. This begs the question, if DC Direct continues this line of toys, which Blackest Night characters would you want to see included in the next series? I know one reader is hoping for a Red Lantern Guy Gardner figure, and I’d love to see a Black Lantern Hawk and a White Lantern Dove set released.
Included in Blackest Night Series 8 is: Black Lantern Black Flash, Professor Zoom's reanimated corpse holds curious sway over The Flash's other undead rogues; Orange Lantern Lex Luthor, the new Orange Power Ring seeks out Lex Luthor for his avarice and lust for power; Indigo Tribe The Atom, with compassion and his sense of duty stronger than ever, Ray Palmer serves as the binding force uniting the spectrum of power; and Sinestro Corps Member Scarecrow, who delights in instilling fear in others and is rewarded with the Yellow Ring of Power.
Blackest Night Series 8 action figures by DC Direct feature multiple points of articulation and come packaged in a 4-color clamshell blister card. Each figure also includes a display base and character-appropriate accessories. Blackest Night Series 7 is scheduled to go on sale December 8, 2010.

DC Direct Blackest Night Series 7 Action Figures
You know, DC Direct’s line of Blackest Night action figures reminds me a lot of a Black Lantern…you just can’t kill it off! The Blot thought for sure wave 6 would be this line’s last, but what do I know!?! Not only are we getting a seventh wave of Blackest Night action figures, but an eight wave is just around the corner. This is by far DC Direct’s most popular line of action figures, and I truly hope there’s not an end in sight.
Included in Blackest Night Series 7 is: Black Lantern Superman, back from the dead…again; Sinestro Corps Member Arkillo, a dissenter defeated, forever forced to wear his traitorous tongue around his neck; Red Lantern Mera with Red Lantern Dex-Star, with a rage-filled heart she allows the Red Ring of Power to drown her; and Black Lantern Terra with Scar, resurrected to prey on the hearts of her former team members, Terra teams with the near-death survivor Scar in an effort to eradicate all emotion in the Universe.

Barneyism of the Week - Ted's Mom
Threadless - “My Other Ride Is A Light Cycle” Tron T-Shirt
The title of this post really says it all! While TRON: Legacy doesn’t hit theaters until December 2010, you can start preparing for the sequel’s release with this awesome t-shirt courtesy of Threadless.com. “My Other Ride Is A Light Cycle” accurately recreates the famous light suits worn in the classic 80’s movie TRON as glow-in-the-dark t-shirts. The Blot’s not sure if Threadless’ Tron hoodie is also GID, but it's also pretty cool.
The TRON 2 themed t-shirt “My Other Ride Is A Light Cycle” comes printed on a light blue tee or a mermaid green hoodie, and can be purchased at Threadless.com for $18 and $45 respectfully. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

The Blot’s gotten so far behind on my Lost episode reviews I’ve decided to combine the last two episodes into a single post…I’ll do my best to not to ramble. First of all, how great was “Happily Ever After?” I don’t know what it is about Desmond and Penny, but Desmond episodes are always the absolute best!
My only complaint of “Happily Ever After” is how much it felt like a FlashForward crossover. With Dominic Monaghan and Sonya Walger guest starring and all of the people blacking out, I could have sworn ABC was trying to do some cross promotions. Besides that, I did love the return of Charlie, Penny and Daniel Widmore (Faraday), even if it was only for one episode. Here’s hoping we see Faraday again in the Flash Sideways, he and Desmond have always made a really great team.
I could talk about this for hours, but what is the deal with Eloise Hawking!?! Is it me or is she the only character, besides Jacob and MIB, to actually know what’s going on. I can’t figure out why, but no matter what timeline or time period we’re in, she always seems to know more than she’s letting on. Does she have the same ability as Desmond to jump back and forth between the timelines? It’s obvious her goal is to save her son Daniel, but I can’t figure out how that agenda fits into Lost’s larger mythology. Is she working with her one time (or is it current) lover Charles Widmore? I’m not so sure that’s true in both timelines. But if not, is she still an Other following the path laid out by Jacob? Or is there a third option, and is she now a disciple of the Man-in-Locke? Things that make you go hmm…
With only a few weeks left, I’m really interested in seeing where the writers of Lost take the Flash Sideways storyline. I’m still struggling to understand it all, but I love how it’s starting to center around the power of love. What I really want to know is why does the power of love bring out memories of the island in certain characters (Faraday, Libby, Hurley), while it takes near death experiences to bring out those same memories in other characters (Charlie, Desmond and probably Locke)? Would love work on the other characters too if they found that certain someone? And if that’s true, why haven’t Jin and Sun’s latent island memories bubbled up yet? Wouldn’t we all agree they are each other’s constants? And if love doesn’t activate their memories, I would be willing to be getting shot should have done the trick on Sun.
This brings us to “Everybody Loves Hugo” and Desmond’s new mission of finding the passengers of Oceanic Flight 815. I don’t know about you, but Desmond is starting to look a whole lot like Jacob in the Flash Sideways. He is now secretly guiding the passengers of Oceanic flight 815 down an unknown path, and awakening their memories of life on the island through some questionable means. Wasn’t this exactly what Jacob did to the Oceanic 6 in the show’s original timeline?
And if Desmond is the new Jacob in the Flash Sideways, I’m starting to think Jack has finally accepted his fate as the island’s new Jacob. Instead of trying to lead in his usual manner of charging ahead, Jack has finally learned to lead by taking a backseat once in a while and following. I think Jack finally showed some real growth and maturity in the conversation he had with Hurley on the way to Locke’s camp, and I’m interested in seeing how his first conversation with the FLocke goes tonight.
Hands down the most out of left field death of a major character on Lost has to be Ilana’s! If this is truly the end of her story, I have to question what the purpose of her character was (other than informing the Losties that they are candidates). Then again, maybe by dying she fulfilled her mission, protecting the candidates. My guess is when Richard, Ben and Miles reach Widmore’s camp we’ll finally see the match-up we’ve all been waiting for: Widmore vs. Ben Part II. This will probably spur a lot of death and destruction on the Hydra station, and so by blowing up Ilana successfully protected the candidates by keeping them from traveling to the Hydra station. I know that’s a pretty convoluted explanation, but I’m sticking with it! Here’s hoping we at least get to see Ilana’s back story in the next few weeks.
I’m sure I’m leaving out a few important issues I wanted to discuss, but that’s what I get for trying to review two episodes of Lost at once. While I have no idea how Desmond’s storyline will play out, I pray it doesn’t involve him dying at the bottom of that well! Part of me thinks being at the bottom of that well is exactly where Desmond needs to be, especially if those wells are truly focal points of the island’s electromagnetism. I’m fairly certain Desmond will end up being the only person who can truly stop FLocke, but I just hope he doesn’t have to sacrifice his life to protect the world.
No matter what happens, Desmond and Penny need to end up together. And this why my new theory is that Desmond makes the ultimate sacrifice to stay on the island as a means of keeping the smoke monster trapped, but Penny ends up on the island with him and they turn out to be the Adam and Eve skeletons we first stumbled upon way back when. Sounds plausible, doesn’t it? We’re just a few hours away until a new episode and The Blot can’t wait! It’s just sad to think about the fact that we’ve only got a handful of new episodes left…until then, Namaste.
