There are very few shows from the 80’s The Blot loves as much as The A-Team, which is why I am so horrified that the long rumored movie remake is finally happening. Has a movie based on television show ever worked and/or been successful? Off the top of my head I’d say an emphatic no, which is why I have some seriously grave misgivings about 20th Century Fox’s decision to go forward with this film. The A-Team's only saving grace is that it stars Liam Neeson as Col. John “Hannibal” Smith. Neeson is a true professional and one of the best actors working today, so at least he brings a little credibility to this ill advised re-imagining.

Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson stars as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus (the role that made Mr. T a household name). The film is also rumored to star Jessica Biel as an Army general pursuing the team (and one of Face’s ex-lovers) and Patrick Wilson as a CIA operative. The A-Team is being directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.
The A-Team is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on June 11, 2010. I can’t wait to see if 20th Century Fox sticks with this date or pushes the film back due to its mediocrity.
