Is Wood the new Vinyl? Kidrobot must think so because the designer vinyl toy company has a couple of new Dunny inspired wood creations in the works. First up is the Chiseler, a 7 inch wood Dunny created by Brooklyn designer David Weeks.
Modeled after Weeks’ poseable timber toys Hanno the Gorilla and Ursa the Bear, the ultra-exclusive Chiseler (only five were created) is hand-hewn and sanded from zebra-striped hard pine, creating sculpted facets out of Dunny’s familiar roundness. Despite the swivel head and arms, each unique Chiseler is less a plaything than an individualized piece of artwork, right down to its custom-crafted wooden crate which features the figure’s laser-etched image.
Each sculptural Chiseler subtly differs from its sibling, resulting in a real Dunny rarity: a one-of-a-kind creation made just for you. And with a price tag of $1,200, it is the most expensive Dunny ever officially released by Kidrobot. The Chiseler measures 7" x 5" x 3", and will be available for purchase starting on Tuesday, September 22 at Kidrobot NY and Kidrobot.com.
