The Shortpacked! Amber O’Malley Statue
As any fan of Shortpacked! can attest, Amber’s weapon of choice is a corn popper push-toy, so no Amber figure would be complete without this classic pre-school toy. Best of all, it even comes with little balls floating in the corn popper push-toy’s translucent resin. How cool is that!?! I have to say, Willis and Patch Together did an excellent job taking a 2D character such as Amber and transforming her into a 3D resin figure.
This killer statue will only be available via preorder, and the preorder period for the Shortpacked! Amber statue ends on October 11, 2009. So if you’re interested in purchasing one make sure you get your order in before Oct. 11th, because once preorders are closed there will be no additional Amber statues produced. Also, Patch Together is estimating that the Shortpacked! Amber O’Malley statue will ship at the end of the year, and you will not be charged for the Shortpacked! resin figure until the statue becomes available. So go buy one today!

Disney x Span of Sunset Key Dog Vinyl Figure
As Disney continues to take over the urban vinyl landscape, The Blot continues to be amazed at which characters Disney chooses to give a designer vinyl makeover to. Never in a million years did I think the Key Dog (or Chernabog for that matter) would be immortalized in vinyl, but here he is! It really gives collectors hope that their favorite obscure Disney character will be next.
The Key Dog comes with a realistic key and squeak bone, and will be packed in the deluxe window box packaging seen above. Expect the Pirates of the Caribbean’s Key Dog to retail for around $50 each.

Lift Exclusive Doktor A. Mad’l Vinyl Figure Teaser Image
All we know for sure is the Doktor A. Mad’l’s head will probably look like the logo at the bottom of the poster above, and that little image is enough of a teaser for me to get really excited about this upcoming Mad’l release! There’s been no word yet on the figure’s price and run size, or if MAD and/or Dok A will be at the show’s opening reception. Hopefully more details will leak soon.
“Freak Mechanique,” Doktor A.’s largest solo exhibition to date, opens Saturday, November 14th at Lift in Detroit, Michigan with an opening reception from 7-11pm. “Freak Mechanique” runs from November 14th through December 9th, so if you live in the Detroit area or are within driving distance, be sure to make your plans now to see what is sure to be an amazing show!
Kidrobot - Dunny Series 2009 Chase Wood Dunny Variants by Travis Cain
Each figure has its own ratio and each all wood Dunny is unbelievably rare. Travis actually put some of his Artist Proof Wood Dunnys up for sale on eBay, and they all sold for some crazy money. Especially when you consider these are newly released production pieces.
The standard AP Wood Dunny sold for $415, the AP Hinge Head Wood Dunny sold for $560, the AP Saw Wood Dunny sold for $787, and the ultra-rare AP Drill Wood Dunny sold for $3,050! Yes my friends, you’ve read that correctly. Cain’s AP Drill Wood Dunny sold for over 3K! These all wood chase Dunnys have to be some of the most sought after production Dunnys ever.

Lost Screen Print #6 - The 4-Toed Statue by Jason Munn
“The 4-Toed Statue” is the sixth screen print released on Damon, Carlton and A Polar Bear in honor of Lost’s sixth and final season. The cool thing about this poster is that the gold foot is actually printed in gloss, so it can only be seen from certain angles and in certain lighting. Jason Munn’s limited edition Lost screen print “The 4-Toed Statue” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 300 pieces, and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print sells for $50 each and can be purchased here while supplies last.
In celebration of LOST's final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series' most memorable, and unforgettable, "water cooler" moments. This ultimate "fan art" was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. Each beautiful poster tells its own different story, allowing the fan to relive memorable and influential moments in an artistic manner, as the show's storied run comes to a close. Once this limited edition print has sold out, they will never be printed again. Celebrate the fandom, community and family created by one of televisions' greatest shows by hanging a little part of its history, inspiration and influence on your wall. (link)

The Flash Uni-Formz Vinyl Figures
The Flash Uni-Formz three figure set features the classic version of The Flash, dressed in his traditional red uniform, the villain Zoom, dressed in his traditional yellow uniform, and death personified, the Black Flash. I know DC Direct is saying this is the “classic version” of The Flash dressed in his “traditional red uniform,” but does anyone else get the feeling that this Flash’s costume is the Wally West version and not the Barry Allen version? Wally is the one with the white eyes and metallic red costume, while Barry’s costume always showed his eyes and had a more traditional red coloring. Plus Barry’s boots had the wings on them, while Wally’s did not.
I know it’s nitpicking, but I’m surprised they didn’t just make a Barry Allen colorway and a Wally West colorway, similar to their release of two different colorways of Batman’s traditional costume. Considering the The Flash Uni-Formz only has three colorways, never in a million years would I have expected one to be the Black Flash. Especially when you consider there have been multiple variations of the Scarlet Speedseter’s costume over the years and a Kid Flash colorway would have been incredibly easy to make. With that being said, I think the Black Flash figure looks very cool, and I love the detailing on the figure’s head!
In keeping with the tradition of designer toys, certain figures will be more rare than others. In this particular instance, The Flash variants (Zoom and Black Flash) will be produced in far lower quantities than the standard Flash figure. The limited-edition Flash Uni-Formz vinyl figures feature 12 points of articulation, stands approximately 8 inches tall, are packaged in a deluxe 4-color window box and will retail for around $60 each. The Flash Uni-Formz figures will go on sale May 26, 2010.
Kidrobot - Buff Monster 8 Inch Dunny
This is probably the only 8 inch Dunny design in the past two years I’ve actually been anxious to get a look at. I love Buff’s work, and was really intrigued to see which of his signature elements he would choose to include in the figure’s design. It’s not quite as pink as I would have liked, but the Dunny’s gloss coat really makes the figure shine.
Indulge your sweet tooth with the 8 inch Buff Monster Dunny. Topped with the Buff’s trademark heavy metal inspired ice cream art and limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide, this vinyl confection retails for $75 and will be available at Kidrobot stores, Kidrobot.com and select retailers on October 8.
Barneyism of the Week - How To Keep A Girl From Becoming Your Girlfriend
How do you keep a girl from becoming your girlfriend?
Simple...
The rules for girls are the same as the rules for gremlins.
“Gremlins?” - Ted
Gremlins.
Rule Number 1 - Never Get Them Wet.
In other words don’t let her take a shower at your place.
Number 2 - Keep them away from sunlight,
i.e. don’t ever see them during the day.
And Rule Number 3 - Never feed them after midnight.
Meaning she doesn’t sleep over
and you don’t have breakfast with her.
EVER.
“What about brunch? Is brunch cool?” - Ted
No Ted, brunch is not cool.
How I Met Your Mother is finally back, and it couldn’t have happened soon enough. Can you believe HIMYM is already into its fifth season!?! All I know is The Blot’s been going through some serious withdraw ever since the end of last season. That Barney/Robin cliffhanger from last season really left me wanting more. And I hoped everyone turned in to watch the great Neil Patrick Harris host the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.
I can honestly say NPH was the best part of the show, and he definitely made the unbearably long award show watchable. My favorite part by far was the Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog sketch featuring Harris, Castle’s Nathan Fillion (Firefly), The Big Bang Theory’s Simon Helberg and Felicia Day (The Guild). Not only did we get an all new Dr. Horrible sketch/song, but Dr. Horrible also took home an Emmy! How cool is that? If for some reason you missed last night’s telecast, you can watch the really funny Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog clip below. Do it now or be forever sorry!

Pearl Jam - Backspacer
Since Backspacer dropped yesterday, the first thing I did on Sunday was head down to my local Target to purchase the album. I've been listening to the album non-stop since I got it yesterday, and I really like it. Now it’s obviously not my favorite Pearl Jam album, but I do like it more than the band’s last album, the self-titled Pearl Jam. I think the fact that the country is no longer under the command of the Bush regime has freed PJ up to focus their immense talent on other issues and topics, which has allowed their creativity to flourish.
One of my favorite parts of the new album is its cover! It was designed by Tom Tomorrow (a.k.a. editorial cartoonist Dan Perkins), who is best well known for his liberal slanted weekly comic strip This Modern World. Tomorrow’s artwork for the album’s cover, packaging and inside booklet is really cool looking and all over the place. Each drawing in Backspacer has a very pop art feel to it, which of course I love, and it's going to look really killer as a screen print for one of Pearl Jam’s upcoming concerts.
For those of you wanting to pick up a copy of Backspacer on cd or vinyl, please remember the album is a Target exclusive, which sort of explains why it was released on a Sunday instead of this Tuesday. The album is also available on iTunes and local indie music stores nationwide.

PaperMonster x DirtyPilot “Friends With Knives” Art Show
You all know The Blot is a huge fan of stencil graffiti art, so I was intrigued the moment I heard of the upcoming online stencil art show curated by PaperMonster and DirtyPilot.com entitled "Friends With Knives." "Friends With Knives," which opens this Friday, September 18th, features some of today's most talented stencil artists. The aim of “Friends With Knives” is to highlight the beauty behind stencil graffiti styles/techniques such as photo-realism, pop, and political stencils at global level with artists hailing from Iran, Germany, USA, Australia, France and the United Kingdom.

Dunny Series 2009 Golden Ticket PON Pigeon Dunny Sneak Peek
Pon will be putting his Golden Ticket Artist Proofs up for sale sometime soon. As soon as we know more The Blot will be sure to let you all know!
Johnny Cupcakes x Warner Bros. Looney Tunes T-Shirts
Foghorn and Henery were always my favorite B-list Looney Tunes characters, so I was really excited to see them included in the JC x WB Looney Tunes t-shirt series. But I have to ask, where the heck is Porky Pig, Sylvester and Tweety, the Tasmanian Devil and Pepe Le Pew!?! I know you can't include everyone, but can you imagine how killer a Pepe Le Pew Johnny Cupcakes t-shirt would have been? And if nothing else, Porky should have gotten the nod over Bugs to appear in the classic Looney Tunes logo on the back of the t-shirts saying his famous closing line “Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-That's all folks!”
Each Johnny Cupcakes x Warner Bros. Looney Tunes t-shirt retails for $40 and can be purchased in guys and girls styles here at the official Johnny Cupcakes online store. But act fast, because these rascally tees are sure to sell out fast.
