OBEY is definitely bringing it in ’09 with another awesome print. This week’s release, “Obey Elephant,” is a gorgeous print and one OBEY collectors have been hoping to see produced for a while now. Based on a skateboard deck designed by Shep as a part of the Black Label 20th Anniversary Series, Obey Elephant appears to be ripe with allegories to world peace, something we could all use a little more of. Considering how popular the skate deck’s design was I am going to assume this print will be highly sought after and extremely hard to get.
Fairey will be releasing the Obey Elephant print on the OBEY Giant online store at a random time on Thursday, April 9, 2009. The limited edition signed and numbered print will probably be an 18”x24” screenprint with an edition size of 450 and a price of around $45.
