Hasbro has been hoping to establish their Mighty Muggs brand as a legitimate platform in the designer vinyl figure market. There is no better way to do so than to release a do-it-yourself blank version of their toy. Well, after successful launching three lines of Mighty Muggs figures (Star Wars, Marvel & Indiana Jones), Hasbro is releasing two all new blank Mighty Muggs to allow for easier customization by fans and artists around the world.
Coming soon is a Blank White Mighty Mugg and a Blank Black Mighty Mugg, both with a suggested retail price of $9.99. This really is the perfect medium for fans and artists a like, especially when you consider that $10 is well below the average price for a 6” blank vinyl figure. Now fans will no longer have to strip their vinyl figures to create all new Mighty Mugg versions of their favorite pop culture characters from comic books, movies and video games.Fans of the Mighty Muggs medium have already started to strip the vinyl toys of their paint and started making their own customs, many of which can be found on eBay. There is some seriously good work out there, and I can only imagine that the output will increase now that you will no longer have to strip the figures down to their base color.
