I also thought this was pretty cool and wanted to share it with everyone while I was away. The Washington D.C. Star Wars Collecting Club (DCSWCC) has started to sell their third officially licensed Star Wars charity lapel pins. The 2008 DCSWCC Charity Pin features “animated Boba Fett with DCSWCC’s signature Washington monument as his rocket” and is limited to only 1000 pieces. (link)
What’s great about this pin is that “all proceeds benefit the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children Program whose mission is to prevent burns and improve the quality of life for young burn survivors and their families in the Mid-Atlantic region.” (link) These awesome Boba Fett pins are $10.00 each and are limited 2 per person. What a great idea and an even better cause! So here’s a wonderful opportunity for all you Star Wars fans out there to donate a little something and get a great collectible in return. You can purchase these limited edition pins at the DCSWCC’s online store.
The DCSWCC’s “previous charity pins featured Yoda and Chewbacca, and netted almost $10,000 for DC Children’s Hospital and The Children’s INN at NIH.” (link) Thanks to the Official Star Wars.com Blog for bringing this to my attention.
