One of the worst kept secrets around is that Kidrobot is finally producing an 8” version of Junko Mizuno’s immensely popular Purple Soda Lady Dunny (from Dunny Series 2012)! What we didn’t all know is the character would be getting two new colorways, including one released exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2015!!! As Junko explained, “I think of my Purple Soda Girl Dunny from 2012 as a daughter of Kuro Megami that I designed for Kidrobot Black Series. When I designed her, I was using the photos I took of old god and goddess statues at Asian Art Museum as reference. So Kuro Megami is kind of like a goddess representing my art. Purple Soda Girl and the two new 8” Dunny’s are all her daughters who have the same goddess-like feeling.”
The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Berry Chocolate Lady Dunny 8” Vinyl Figure will be available for purchase at the Kidrobot SDCC booth in limited quantities and will retail for $100. What’s really cool about this release is Junko Mizuno will be at Comic-Con and signing at the KR booth on Thursday, July 9th, from 1-3pm and Friday, July 10th, also from 1-3pm. So you can pick up this awesome figure and get it signed by its amazingly talented creator!
