If you follow The Blot on Twitter then you know I’ve recently begun to read the amazing comic book series The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. After watching (and thoroughly enjoying) the AMC television series, I felt like it was time to finally see what all the hullabaloo was about. Needless to say, the comics have definitely lived up to the hype and so to have these all new comic book inspired The Walking Dead action figures by McFarlane Toys!
If you’re not familiar with the comics or television series, The Walking Dead tells the story of the months and years that come after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by Officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The Walking Dead Comic Book Series 1 action figure lineup includes some of the most iconic characters from the book, along with some amazingly realistic, yet dead, zombie counterparts.
Series 1 includes survivors Officer Rick Grimes and Michonne, and a Zombie Lurker and a Zombie Roamer. I haven’t been introduced to Michonne in the comic book yet, but she looks pretty bad ass! And just look at all of the amazing details McFarlane Toys have included on these TWD zombies. It’s pretty incredible. Each The Walking Dead Comic Book Series 1 figure stands 6” tall, retails for $15 and will begin shipping sometime in September 2011.
